11:00am "Portraits from the Border," a talk by renowned Texan photographer, Bill Wright. Hoxie Thompson Auditorium

4:30pm Opening Reception, Photographic Exhibition, Johnson Gallery in Wright Campus Center

Bill Wright will present his works. Wright's photography is in the permanent collections of the National Archives, the National Museum of American Art, the Amon Carter Museum, and the Houston Museum of Fine Arts.

Wednesday, Oct. 30

4:30pm Norma Cantú, Chicana writer and critic, will read from/talk about her works about growing up on the border. Hoxie Thompson Auditorium

Cantú's teaching and research interests include Chicano literature, U.S. Latina/o literature, creative writing, border studies, women's studies, and folklore.

Thursday, Oct. 31

11am Panel Discussion on NAFTA, the border, and immigration. Hoxie Thompson Auditorium

H. Scott Cook, Professor Emeritus of Anthropology and Interim Director of the Puerto Rican and Latino Studies Institute at the University of Connecticut. He is the author of several studies of the indigenous cultures of Mexico.

Mannti Cummins, a former CEO of three companies in Mexico, whose career has concentrated on strategic development, business start-up and venture finance. He is currently CEO of Cummins & Associates.

Joan E. Supplee, Associate Professor of History and Director of Latin American Studies Program, Baylor University

Carlos Zarazaga, Senior Economist and Executive Director, Center for Latin American Economies Research Department, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

Friday, Nov. 1
